- Our story began in 1979 when our father started a small beekeeping operation in the center of the Saskatchewan prairies. Dan joined the beekeeping operation full-time in 2003, and starting in 2014, both Simon and Dan have diligently worked to transform the business into what it is today—a thriving enterprise with approximately 4,000 hives and 1,000 nucs. As second-generation apiarists (the fancy word for beekeepers), Simon and Dan have witnessed many changes to the management required for honeybees, and we are continuously monitoring and changing our BMP’s to maintain the healthiest, happiest bees we possibly can.
- Lalonde Honey Farms is a dedicated commercial beekeeping operation based near Clavet, Saskatchewan. With a strong commitment to quality and sustainability, we produce premium, pure Canadian honey and beeswax for customers who value natural, locally sourced products. Our honey is harvested with care from thriving hives located in the rich agricultural landscape of central Saskatchewan, ensuring a premium, flavorful product. As a CFIA-registered operation, we meet the highest standards for food safety and quality assurance in every jar and barrel of honey, and every block of beeswax we produce.
- In addition to producing honey and beeswax, Lalonde Honey Farms provides nucleus colonies for sale every spring, supplying local and commercial beekeepers with quality, healthy bees, ready to grow into a hive and produce a new honey crop and pollination benefits. We work with seed growers and offer professional pollination services dedicated to hybrid canola seed production and alfalfa seed production. Further, our main beeyards provide significant pollination services to support local farmers and enhance their crop quality and yield, all at no cost to the farmer. Our hardworking bees play a vital role in agricultural success, and we take pride in helping growers achieve healthy, productive harvests. With years of experience and a passion for beekeeping, we are committed to supporting both the environment and the local economy through responsible, expert apiculture.
